Today, my life was changed for good. This man is Dave. He came into my school today to tell everyone about his life experience. Some of you may know, I attempted suicide a few times over the past summer. This man made me realize how much of an idiot I was. When he was 16 he fell in love with a girl. After many times of opening doors, pulling out chairs, bringing her flowers, he won that girls hear
t. When he was 18 he went to Vietnam. During that event, he lost half of his face. Fighting for us. The medics were sure he was dead, but as they were filing the report, he made it known that he was still alive. He was shipped off to a hospital and put into ICU. There was another man in the same room as him with 100% third degree burn all over his body from head to toe. The burned mans wife walked in, took off her wedding ring and threw it at him saying ‘I can’t be seen with you, you’re hideous.’ And walked out. This put him into fear, as he was in love with his girl. He took a look at himself in a mirror, he thought for sure she was going to leave him, especially because they were so young. So he tried to pull a tube, to finish what his enemy had tried to do, and it was to end his life. he fortunately pulled the wrong tube. As soon as she walked into his room, she kissed what was left of his face and told him how much she loved him. He now has three children and a five year old granddaughter. This man, I’m standing next to, is a hero. After he was done speaking, I went up to him, tears running down my face, I hugged him and told him “Thank you. Thank you so much.” Me doing this brought tears to his eyes. If this man can come out of all of the stuff he had went through, so can everyone else. If he would’ve pulled the right tube, he wouldn’t have a beautiful family, he wouldn’t have been a survivor, he wouldn’t have changed my life. This goes out for everyone, don’t you ever think that there is nothing to live for. Some of you go home to family problems, school problems, work problems, boyfriend/girlfriend problems. But I promise you, things will get better! You will be happy again. Don’t convince yourself you won’t. Convince yourself you will. And make it happen. I love each and every one of you reading this. Please, don’t give up on yourself.

So its a regular day driving home then I come across this..
